The 2022-23 NFL regular season has come to a close after 18 weeks of play.
14 fortunate teams advance to the playoffs, with 12 teams rolling right in to “Week 19” in the form of Wildcard Weekend.
But does that mean those 14 teams are the best or hottest in the league right now? These Power Rankings may beg to differ. For one example, the Detroit Lions finished red-hot and ended up with a 9-8 record, and I certainly would rank them over a couple teams that qualified for the postseason.
At the top, you can make cases for the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, and probably the Cincinnati Bengals for the top position. Kansas City, Buffalo, and Philadelphia have been pretty consistently dominant this season, but San Francisco and Cincinnati had near-perfect second halves to their seasons to roll in to the playoffs with heads full of steam.
Where does every team rank at the end of the season? Who is getting hot just in time for a Super Bowl run? Which non-playoff teams would you take over the worst playoff qualifiers?
