Undefeated through six games of play, the Philadelphia Eagles decided not to just stand pat with talented players available via the trade market ahead of the November 2 deadline.
The 6-0 Eagles moved to acquire three-time Pro Bowler Robert Quinn from the Chicago Bears in exchange for a 2023 fourth round draft pick.
Eagles are acquiring edge rusher Robert Quinn, per @MikeGarafolo.
Big move for Eagles. Quinn, 32, has 102 career sacks. He had 18.5 last season. He has no guaranteed money on his contract beyond this season.
Bolsters a pass rush for a defense playing with big leads every week.
Quinn enjoyed a renaissance season in 2021-22 with the Bears after a couple years of up-and-down production. Quinn had 185 sacks and four forced fumbles for Chicago last season. This year, Quinn has been quiet so far, with just 1.0 sack and two tackles for losses through seven games.
Philadelphia hopes Quinn adds a new layer to their pass rushing defense, and that the three-time Pro Bowler will flourish with more spread out attention from opposing offensive lines. Quinn joins Brandon Graham, Fletcher Cox, Javon Hargrave, Josh Sweat, and Haason Reddick on an already strong defense.
