Week 14 of the 2023-24 NFL Season added to the chaos, with well over half the league’s teams vying for playoff spots with just four weeks left to play. Some big games left big marks in this weeks’s Power Rankings.
The most consequential result of Week 14 was Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys not only beating Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles, but manhandling them 33-13 in an NFC East clash that now sets up Dallas for the potential to win the division or even the conference’s #1 seed.
In a reunion of an annual AFC clash, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills beat Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs by the skin of their teeth: despite a near-miracle play from Travis Kelce and Kadarius Toney. The win propels the Bills to 7-6, putting them in position to make a playoff push, while Kansas City drops to 8-5, putting their AFC West lead in jeopardy.
To whom? Why, none other than the 7-6 Denver Broncos, who smothered the Los Angeles Chargers 24-7 for their sixth win in seven games. Denver also has a realistic path to the playoffs now, after starting 1-5 earlier this year.
A Monday Night Football doubleheader also shook things up, as both underdogs won: the New York Giants improved to 5-8 with a last-minute win over the Green Bay Packers, and the Tennessee Titans completed a 14-point comeback to down a strong Miami Dolphins team.
