Wildcard Weekend is in the books, and eight teams remain competing for the Super Bowl 58 title to complete the 2023-24 NFL season.

Three of the weekend’s four games are admittedly looking a little lop-sided, with spreads nearing a touchdown or more, and with the same three games matchup teams with a three-win difference in regular season win totals. But if Wildcard Weekend taught us anything, it’s that anything is possible this postseason.

The cream of the crop is the final game of the weekend, in what is quickly becoming an instantly classic rivalry: Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs taking on Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night.

Saturday Games

Houston Texans (11-7) at Baltimore Ravens (13-4) at 4:30 PM ET: Rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans dominated the Cleveland Browns 45-14 last week. But this year’s Baltimore Ravens are an elite team, one that should easily win at home in this situation. While Lamar Jackson has had mixed playoff success in his career, the soon-to-be two-time NFL MVP should push his squad through to the AFC Championship Game with a win here. Ravens win 27-17

Green Bay Packers (10-8) at San Francisco 49ers (12-5) at 8:15 PM ET: I never saw the Green Bay Packers as a playoff team, but they squeaked in to the NFC field and then not only upset, but stomped the Dallas Cowboys in the Wildcard Round. But like the Texans earlier in the day, Jordan Love and the Packers are playing Brock Purdy and the well-rested, top-seeded San Francisco 49ers for a reason: Green Bay is still a step away from Super Bowl contention. The 49ers are superior to the Packers on both sides of the football. 49ers win 33-16

Sunday Games

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (10-8) at Detroit Lions (13-5) at 3:00 PM ET: Like I said in my introduction: on paper, the Divisional Round is more slanted than the Wildcard Round. That’s not to knock the Tampa Bay Buccaneers‘ upset of the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles last week, but Dan Campbell, Jared Goff, and the Detroit Lions are in the middle of building something special. Lions win 28-18

Kansas City Chiefs (12-6) at Buffalo Bills (12-6) at 6:30 PM ET: Finally, a good matchup: again, on paper. Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes have been dominating the regular season standings in the AFC for years: but only Mahomes has the hardware (Super Bowl titles and appearances) to show for it. That’s thanks in part to Mahomes tending to win this matchup, which happens nearly annually in the postseason. But this time, Mahomes has to take the road for the first time in the playoffs in a non-Super Bowl setting: the Kansas City Chiefs have to travel to take on the Buffalo Bills, and that’s thanks in part to Buffalo beating Kansas City in the regular season this year. It seems the tides may be turning, and it might be the year someone other than Tom Brady ends Patrick Mahomes’ postseason. Bills win 23-20
