After some explosive matchups in Week 9, Week 10 cools things down a bit but still has plenty to offer.

C.J. Stroud and the 4-4 Houston Texans could really start turning heads with a win over Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals on the road. The winner of the New Orleans Saints at Minnesota Vikings matchup will emerge 6-4 with a strong standing in the NFC playoff race. The 5-3 San Francisco 49ers look to stop their three-game skid against a surging Jacksonville Jaguars team.

Throw in a high octane AFC North matchup: the 5-3 Cleveland Browns at the Baltimore Ravens, and a spicy inter-conference matchup, the 6-2 Detroit Lions at the 4-4 Los Angeles Chargers, and Week 10 has plenty to offer.

Overall: 86-50 (63%)

Thursday Night Football

Carolina Panthers (1-7) at Chicago Bears (2-7): A lot of people are hating on this Thursday Night Football matchup, where the two teams have a combined record of 3-14, but I think it could be a fun one, as both teams are in the same “league.” Justin Fields would make this game even better, but with Tyson Bagent in line to start for the Chicago Bears, first overall pick Bryce Young could earn his first career prime time win. Panthers win 20-17

Sunday Games

Game in Germany: Indianapolis Colts (4-5) vs. New England Patriots (2-7): The New England Patriots didn’t implode overnight when Tom Brady left the franchise: it’s been a slow bleed. Falling to 2-7 was a new low for Bill Belichick and the Patriots, but falling to 2-8 and getting embarrassed by a backup quarterback on international grounds could be an even more monumental low.. if it happens. Colts win 30-17

Houston Texans (4-4) at Cincinnati Bengals (5-3): C.J. Stroud is coming in hot off a five-touchdown performance for the Houston Texans in a shootout with the Buccaneers last week, but Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals present a bigger challenge in Week 10. Bengals win 34-23

New Orleans Saints (5-4) at Minnesota Vikings (5-4): The Minnesota Vikings just keep finding ways to win, even without starting quarterback Kirk Cousins and star wide receiver Justin Jefferson. Derek Carr and the New Orleans Saints deserve credit as well at 5-4, but I’m going with the hotter hand, the surging Vikings. Vikings win 24-23

Green Bay Packers (3-5) at Pittsburgh Steelers (5-3): The Green Bay Packers earned a convincing win over the Rams last week to save their season from obscurity, but still haven’t hit their stride consistently on either side of the ball. Kenny Pickett and the Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t world beaters, but they find ways to win, and could seek to 6-3 with a home win here. Steelers win 27-20

Tennessee Titans (3-5) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-5): The Tennessee Titans may have fell late to Pittsburgh last week, but they’re starting to put the pieces together of what a Will Levis-led offense looks like. Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers put up 37 points offensively last week, but still fell 39-37 to the Texans. The Titans won’t eclipse 30, but they still might come out on top. Titans win 24-18

San Francisco 49ers (5-3) at Jacksonville Jaguars (6-2): The San Francisco 49ers desperately need a win to snap their three-game losing streak, and their opponent isn’t an easy one: Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars have won five straight games, putting up 30+ points in two of the last three weeks. The 49ers are favored and my gut says they pull it off, but I would feel dumb picking against Jacksonville at home if they ended up winning. Jaguars win 30-27

Cleveland Browns (5-3) at Baltimore Ravens (7-2): The Cleveland Browns are another team figuring it out and getting better week-by-week, looking more and more like a playoff team. But Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens are firing on all cylinders, and certainly don’t want to let anyone even think about touching their AFC North lead in a division with four strong teams. Ravens win 26-23

Atlanta Falcons (4-5) at Arizona Cardinals (1-8): The Atlanta Falcons nearly pushed to five wins last week, which would have been surprising given their preseason expectations, but will have another chance against a hapless Arizona Cardinals team (Kyler Murray’s potential return still won’t push the needle in favor of Arizona.) Falcons win 26-17

Detroit Lions (6-2) at Los Angeles Chargers (4-4): The Los Angeles Chargers have battled back from a slow start to a 4-4 record, but haven’t been as powerful offensively as anticipated. The Detroit Lions seem like a team on a mission, and could really then

New York Giants (2-7) at Dallas Cowboys (5-3): Tommy Devito and the New York Giants face Dak Prescott and a Dallas Cowboys team that is great at dominating weak competition, and Dallas is 3-0 at home. The over/under is set for 39.5, and I’m wondering if that should just be Dallas’ over/under. Cowboys win 38-9

Washington Commanders (4-5) at Seattle Seahawks (5-3): The Washington Commanders are a gritty 4-5 team, and the Seattle Seahawks are far from perfect despite a solid 5-3 record. Basically, this game could go either way, but Seattle at home is a pretty safe bet. Seahawks win 27-26

Sunday Night Football

New York Jets (4-4) at Las Vegas Raiders (4-5): The “bad National games this week” narrative includes this game, which I don’t think is fair. Obviously, it’s not the Aaron Rodgers vs. Jimmy Garoppolo matchup the league expected when it scheduled this game, but the New York Jets and Las Vegas Raiders are fun teams, and pesky ones at that, earning decent records against the predictions of many. I think this will be a close, relatively low-scoring game. Jets win 20-17

Monday Night Football

Denver Broncos (3-5) at Buffalo Bills (5-4): The Denver Broncos are coming off a bye week preceded by back-to-back wins, including their first win over the Chiefs in over half a decade. Sean Payton may have even “fixed” Russell Wilson. The Buffalo Bills are 5-4 and underperforming expectations this season. Monday Night upset? Not quite, as Buffalo is 4-1 at home and much better against non-elite competition, and Denver just isn’t in that class. Bills win 28-20

Teams on Bye

Kansas City Chiefs (7-2), Los Angeles Rams (3-6), Philadelphia Eagles (8-1), Miami Dolphins (6-3)
