Through three weeks of play in the 2025-26 NFL season, the league’s form is starting to take shape. We always knew teams like the Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers, and Washington Commanders would be good this season.

But surprises include a red-hot Los Angeles Chargers team: while Justin Herbert and company were already a playoff-pedigree team, they’re sitting pretty at the third spot in my Power Rankings with a 3-0 record to start the season.

Daniel Jones and the Indianapolis Colts are probably the story of the early season so far, and Indianapolis enters the Top 10 after another dominant victory to get to 3-0.

The San Francisco 49ers are also starting to look like themselves again, whether its Brock Purdy or Mac Jones at quarterback, and are also 3-0 to start the season.

Teams like the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Rams suffered tough losses to good teams in Week 3, and didn’t lose too much of their footing in these Power Rankings. The Green Bay Packers’ surprising loss to the Cleveland Browns certainly knocked them down a couple spots, as did Jake Browning and the Cincinnati Bengals’ 48-10 blowout loss to Carson Wentz and the Minnesota Vikings.

The Detroit Lions are bouncing back well from a Week 1 loss, with a signature 38-30 Monday Night Football win over a strong Ravens team now under their belt.

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs slide three spots despite getting their first win of the season on Sunday Night Football over Russell Wilson and the now 0-3 New York Giants. Kansas City has still hardly looked dominant this season, and even though they got in the win column in Week 3, other teams are catching up and looking better.

Namely, Sam Darnold’s Seattle Seahawks (who blew out the New Orleans Saints 44-13), the 49ers, and the Colts all leapfrogged Kansas City.

Biggest Winners

The Detroit Lions rose four spots following their 38-30 Monday Night Football win over the Ravens, rising to #4 overall. The San Francisco 49ers, Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals, and Seattle Seahawks all rose three spots in this week’s Power Rankings, as drastic swings start to become a little more rare.

Biggest Losers

The Houston Texans only suffered a one-score loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, but still tumbled five spots as they fell to 0-3. The Atlanta Falcons also fell five spots after an embarrassing 30-0 shutout at the hands of the previously winless Carolina Panthers. Finally, the Cincinnati Bengals fell five spots as well, after Jake Browning was unable to fill Joe Burrow’s shoes in a 48-10 loss to the Vikings.
