Eight teams entered the Divisional Round of the 2023-24 NFL Playoffs, and now, just four teams remain competing for the Super Bowl 58 title.
On Sunday, Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions pulled away late to send themselves to the NFC Championship Game with a 31-23 win over Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills six-game winning streak came to a halt as Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs came out on top 27-24 after the Bills missed a short field goal inside the two-minute warning, sending Mahomes to his sixth straight AFC Championship Game.
With both Conference Championship matchups set, I’ll count down all eight teams that played in the Divisional Round: and while it looks like all four losing teams occupy the bottom half of these rankings, keep in mind that I’m still looking at the big picture: a great team losing a quality game to a similarly great opponent could rank higher than a mediocre team that just squeaked by a bad team.
