Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker will be a last-minute addition to the 2020 NBA All-Star Game in Chicago, replacing injured Portland Trailblazers guard Damian Lillard. Booker will play on Team LeBron on Sunday night. The guard will also replace Lillard in the three-point contest (Booker is a 35.8% three-point shooter.)
Phoenix guard Devin Booker will replace Portland star Damian Lillard (groin) in the NBA All-Star Game.
The showcase of the league’s greatest talents will surely miss Lillard, who has been on an absolute tear in 2020, dropping 40 and 50-point games left and right and making the game look easy.
Damian Lillard's shooting splits over his last 10 games:
🎯 51.5 FG% 🎯 51.5 3P% 🎯 91.6 FT%
He's the first player in NBA history to average at least 40 points per game with 50/50/90 shooting splits over a 10-game span. pic.twitter.com/7AluTnIyMU
While Lillard’s explosive play will be missed, Devin Booker earns his rightful nod as an All-Star. When I re-selected this year’s field of All-Stars, I identified Booker as the most clear and obvious snub. With a line of 26.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game heading into the All-Star break, Booker’s exclusion would have been nothing short of criminal.
