Longtime Sakmann Sports readers may be aware, but my NFL coverage has been pretty abridged this season on account of becoming a new father. Even sticking to my weekly picks has been a challenge, hence me getting my Week 3 NFL Picks out after Sunday’s early games have already kicked off… but I promise I didn’t peek at the scores.

Week 3 is where things start to get a little more serious. The Los Angeles Chargers, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Washington Commanders, Atlanta Falcons, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are all 0-2, staring at a potential 0-3 doom hole: and many of these teams had playoff aspirations or made the playoffs last season.

On the other hand, the Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, Minnesota Vikings, Las Vegas Raiders, and Philadelphia Eagles are all looking to push their hot 2-0 starts to a perfect 3-0 to start the season.

On Sunday Night Football, Super Bowl 61 hopefuls clash as Bo Nix and the 1-1 Denver Broncos host Matthew Stafford and the 1-1 Los Angeles Rams. Then on Monday Night Football, the Philadelphia Eagles, as underwhelming a 2-0 start as ever, hit the road to face the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.
