NFL 2024: Week 13 Picks

Week 13 of the 2024-25 NFL Season is upon us, which includes three games for the annual Thanksgiving Day matchups, a Black Friday game, and still a full Sunday of action: no teams have Week 13 off.

The Thanksgiving games aren’t exactly all appetizing, but the first two matchups are classic: Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears against Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions, and the Dallas Cowboys hosting their annual Thanksgiving afternoon game against the New York Giants, who are reportedly down to Drew Lock as their third starting quarterback of the season. With Cooper Rush opposing him, and both teams combining for a 6-16 record, there’s not much intrigue beyond the classic NFC East rivalry itself.

in the Thanksgiving primetime slot, however, Tua Tagovailoa and a surging Miami Dolphins team look to even their record at .500 and join the AFC playoff hunt: but Jordan Love and the 8-3 Green Bay Packers need every win they can get to stay in the race for first place in a crowded NFC North.

The Black Friday game, in its second season, looks skippable once again: Patrick Mahomes and the 10-1 Kansas City Chiefs should easily be able to take care of the 2-9 Las Vegas Raiders.

Sunday’s biggest matchup, this week’s Sak Sports Blog Game of the Week, pits Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, and the Philadelphia Eagles against Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, and the Baltimore Ravens. It’s a star-studded matchup with playoff implications for both the 9-2 Eagles, chasing the NFC’s #1 seed, and the 8-4 Ravens, needing to keep pace with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC North.

Sunday Night Football showcases Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills against a hurting San Francisco 49ers team, and Monday Night Football gives the national spotlight to Bo Nix and Jameis Winston as the Denver Broncos host the Cleveland Browns.
