All sixteen teams are in action for Week 8 of the 2024-25 NFL season, as the 17-game slate quietly approaches the halfway mark.

Things kick off on Thursday Night Football as Sam Darnold and the 5-1 Minnesota Vikings look to rebound from their first loss of the season as they hit the road to take on the 2-4 Los Angeles Rams.

Week 8 only features four games where both teams have winning records, so we’ll highlight those:

  • Kirk Cousins and the 4-3 Atlanta Falcons take on Baker Mayfield and the 4-3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers for first place in the NFC South.
  • Anthony Richardson and the 4-3 Indianapolis Colts play C.J. Stroud and the 5-2 Houston Texans for at least a share of 1st place in the AFC South for the winner.
  • Josh Allen and the 5-2 Buffalo Bills hit the road to face Geno Smith and the 4-3 Seattle Seahawks.
  • Caleb Williams and the 4-2 Chicago Bears take on, hopefully, Jayden Daniels and the 5-2 Washington Commanders in a NFC clash that could feature two electric rookie quarterbacks. Even if Marcus Mariota gets the nod for Washington, this should be can’t-miss football, which wasn’t expected from these two teams coming in to the season.

Other key games include Joe Burrow and the 3-4 Cincinnati Bengals trying to win their third straight game as they host Jalen Hurts and the 4-2 Philadelphia Eagles, as well as Dak Prescott’s 3-3 Dallas Cowboys facing a 3-4 San Francisco 49ers team on Sunday Night Football, in a matchup of teams struggling to find their previously known identities.
