What did we learn in Week 6? Not a lot, apparently: in a rarity, the Top 10 teams in this week’s Power Rankings are almost a carbon copy of last week’s, with just one new team in at #10: the 4-2 Green Bay Packers, who replace a Dallas Cowboys team that just suffered am embarrassing 47-9 loss to drop to 3-3.

But there were still important trend-confirming wins, and in the case of Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders, a close enough loss to a great team (the Baltimore Ravens) to prove that they should still be considered a force in the NFC moving forward.

C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans continue to be one of the best teams in the AFC, improving to 5-1 with a 41-21 win over the New England Patriots on the road. But Houston has plenty of competition: four of the top five teams in this week’s Power Rankings play in the AFC.

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills earned a key victory over Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets on Monday Night Football, emerging victorious with a 23-20 win at MetLife Stadium to take early control of the AFC East. The Jets are in free-fall, losing four straight games after a 2-0 start, as well as firing head coach Robert Saleh. Will New York’s trade for Davante Adams help the Jets turn the corner moving forward? Only time will tell, so that trade does not affect the ranking of a team that has lost four straight games.

My biggest mover this week was the Chicago Bears: moving from #21 to #14 after beating the Jacksonville Jaguars 35-16 in London, improving to 4-2 in Caleb Williams’ rookie campaign.

The undefeated Minnesota Vikings and Kansas City Chiefs both had bye weeks in Week 6, and remain the top two teams in this week’s Power Rankings.
