Week 4 is in the books, with the 2024-25 NFL regular season nearly a quarter of the way in the books already. There’s been plenty of storylines in the season’s early goings, and Week 4’s results both clarified where some teams stand and made it even more confusing for others.
Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders are surging after a 42-14 win in Arizona, with three straight wins including two on the road. While Washington just misses out on a Top 10 ranking this week, the Commanders are certainly a surprising team to watch for.
The Kansas City Chiefs keep on getting banged up, this week potentially losing wide receiver Rashee Rice for the season. But Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce found a way to win nonetheless, downing the Los Angeles Chargers 17-10 despite a depleted receiver corps to improve to 4-0. How long the Chiefs can stay at #1 with such limited weapons remains to be seen, but it’s impossible not to put them in that slot right now.
And of course, the Minnesota Vikings are also undefeated, staving off a furious comeback attempt from Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers to improve to 4-0. The Vikings move to #2 in this week’s rankings: the highest I can ever remember ranking Minnesota on Sak Sports Blog.
In a huge test of where the AFC powerhouses stand, Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, and the Baltimore Ravens ran all over Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, coming out with a 35-10 win at home to grab the #3 spot in this week’s rankings and hand Buffalo their first loss of the season.
