Nikola Jokic has recorded a multitude of triple doubles in his career. The Serbian center, with his unique skill set, has even posted multiple stat lines that haven’t been posted before.
But last night’s performance against the Phoenix Suns might just be one of the best individual performances in NBA history.
Jokic scored 31 points, grabbed 21 rebounds, and dished out 22 assists in an overtime win for the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena: the first 30+ points, 20+ rebounds, 20+ assists performance in NBA history.
The game did go to overtime, inflating Jokic’s stats a little, but Jokic technically recorded two triple doubles: one from the game’s beginning to about three-quarter of the way through the third quarter, and another over the remainder of the game.
The Nuggets won 149-141, outpacing the Suns 24-16 in overtime, to improve their record to 41-22 as well as 22-9 at home.
Note: This article was intended to be longer and include more commentary, but time got away from me. It’s still being published to archive Jokic’s historic night on my website.
