The results of the second week of the NFL season are often more head-scratching and narrative-changing than those of Week 1, even after the lengthy off-season.
For example, the Detroit Lions outlasted the Los Angeles Rams 26-20 in overtime in Week 1 on Sunday Night Football: introducing the two teams to the 2024-25 NFL season very much where we last saw them in the 2024 NFL Playoffs. But in Week 2? The Lions were defeated 20-16 by Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while the Rams turned in a 41-10 loss to Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals.
Derek Carr, Alvin Kamara, and the New Orleans Saints have been perhaps the biggest surprise of the season so far: scoring on each of their first 14 possessions to start the year, and blew out the Dallas Cowboys 44-19 in Week 2.
