After teasing a collaboration and a music video that features the two artists as fast food employees, Future and Drake released their newest collaboration on Thursday night: “Life is Good.”
Drake and Future are frequent collaborators, most prominently on their joint album What a Time to be Alive. It’s currently unknown if the single is part of the rumored What a Time To be Alive 2, and the track is listed as a Future song featuring Drake.
Future does get most of the airtime for the 3:58, with Drake giving the song its intro. The beat switches completely for Future’s two verses and multiple choruses. This may make the collaboration feel disconnected in a way, but many songs on WATTBA followed this same pattern.
Drake and Future last linked up on “Blue Tint,” one of my favorite tracks off Drake’s last studio album Scorpion.
The duo also dropped an accompanying music video: featuring cameos from 21 Savage, Lil Yachty, Mike Will Made-It, and Big Bank Black.
Although the single will be make its radio debut at 6 AM, Future and Drake nailed the midnight release for the biggest release of the young rap year.
